Supreme Court Seeks Feedback on Three-Year Law Practice Rule for Judicial Exams

The Supreme Court has sought feedback from all High Courts, National Law Universities, and law schools on the minimum three-year law practice requirement for appearing in entry-level judicial services examinations. This follows a May 2023 ruling barring fresh law graduates from these exams. A plea by Bhumika Trust requested exemption for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), citing hiring challenges, but the court emphasized uniform criteria for all candidates to avoid feelings of inferiority and plans to consider any changes based on collected feedback.
