Bangladesh Nationalist Party Urges Election Commission for Impartiality Ahead of February Elections

The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has urged the Election Commission (EC) to maintain complete impartiality ahead of the February 12 general elections. BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, after meeting Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin, expressed concerns over perceived biases, unresolved postal ballot issues for overseas voters, and alleged violations of the electoral code, including unauthorized collection of personal data. The BNP requested changes to ballot papers and fair voting opportunities for election duty personnel.
