In the recent municipal elections, the Shiv Sena factions led by Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray showed contrasting performances. Shinde's faction secured a majority in Thane Municipal Corporation, winning 75 seats, but lost a key seat in Ward 13A, where Uddhav's candidate Shahji Khuspe defeated Shinde's former mayor. Conversely, in Mumbai's Worli, a traditional stronghold of Uddhav's faction, the Shiv Sena (UBT) won six of seven seats, with Shinde's faction claiming one. The results highlight a divided voter base between the two Sena groups across regions.
