
Voting is underway for elections to 48 urban local bodies (ULBs) in Jharkhand, including nine municipal corporations, 20 nagar parishads, and 19 nagar panchayats. Over 43.43 lakh voters are eligible to elect mayors, chairpersons, and councillors across 1,042 wards, with 6,124 candidates contesting. Polling began at 7 a.m. amid tight security at 4,307 booths, including 896 hyper-sensitive ones. Early turnout reached around 12% by 9 a.m. Vote counting is scheduled for February 27.
