From the upcoming Budget session starting January 28, Lok Sabha MPs will be required to mark their attendance electronically at their designated seats inside the House, replacing the previous system of marking attendance in the lobby. This change aims to improve transparency and ensure members' physical presence during proceedings. Ministers and the leader of opposition are exempt from this requirement. Speaker Om Birla also urged MPs to express views through speeches rather than protests like placards or slogans. The session will continue until April 2.
