
The student-led National Citizen Party (NCP) in Bangladesh is experiencing an internal rift over a proposed alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami for the upcoming February elections. Thirty leaders have voiced opposition through a joint letter, citing concerns that the alliance conflicts with the NCP's ideology and values, particularly regarding Jamaat's controversial history and role in the 1971 Liberation War. Two senior members have resigned, with one announcing plans to run as an independent candidate.
