Himachal Pradesh's cabinet has approved the acquisition of nearly 3,000 bigha of land in Shitalpur, Baddi, for a new township, led by HIMUDA. Approximately 1,500 bigha is government-owned, with private land to be procured. Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan highlighted Shitalpur's strategic location near the Chandigarh border. This development occurs amidst ongoing dissent regarding a separate township project near Shimla, where residents protested concerns over farmland and livelihoods.
