West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has called for an inquiry into the sudden resignation of Governor C.V. Ananda Bose, who had three years remaining in his term, and questioned the earlier resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar as West Bengal governor. Speaking at a sit-in against the Election Commission's Special Summary Revision (SSR) in poll-bound West Bengal, Banerjee alleged arbitrary deletion of voter names during the SSR and stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, elected on this voter list, should resign. She urged Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to seek Modi's resignation and questioned the fairness of the voter list.
