Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has introduced 42 new train halts across Assam and West Bengal, effective in 2025, to enhance rail connectivity and accessibility. In Assam, 32 new stops have been added to 23 trains, including at stations like Diphu and Kokrajhar. West Bengal will see 10 new halts for eight trains, including at Kumedpur and Old Malda. NFR states these changes aim to benefit commuters, students, professionals, and patients by improving access to essential services and boosting local economies and tourism.
