Enforcement agencies in Thane have seized over Rs 2.75 crore in illegal liquor, narcotics, weapons, and unaccounted cash since the model code of conduct for civic polls began on December 15, 2025. The seizures, made by police, excise, and civic teams between December 15 and January 1, include 57,937 kg of drugs valued at Rs 2.28 crore, 59 illegal weapons, and Rs 9.54 lakh in cash. The Thane Municipal Corporation elections are scheduled for January 15.
