Maharashtra Strengthens Measures Against MJPJAY Fraud and Malpractices in IVF, Sonography Centers
Maharashtra Health Minister Prakash Abitkar announced measures to combat fraud in the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (MJPJAY) and malpractice at sonography and IVF centers. The state has implemented an AI-enabled platform to detect suspicious insurance claims and irregular treatment patterns. Special task forces conduct inspections to enforce the PCPNDT Act, with plans to apply MCOCA provisions against egg trafficking and illegal practices. Authorities have arrested involved doctors and are pursuing license cancellations, emphasizing strict action against violations.
