Himachal Pradesh Announces 25% Reservation for Women in Class-III Posts, Launches Development Projects

On International Women's Day, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced a law to reserve 25% of Class-III government jobs for women and a special recruitment drive for women sub-inspectors in the police. He highlighted initiatives like equal property rights for daughters, increased legal marriage age, and support for widows' families. Sukhu also inaugurated 17 development projects worth Rs 190 crore and honored women achievers, emphasizing the government's commitment to women's welfare and social upliftment.
