The Indian government has authorized Lieutenant Governors or administrators of five Union territories—Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, and Puducherry—to exercise powers under the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954. This delegation allows them to authorize officers to search premises, seize records, and take action against misleading advertisements claiming magical cures for diseases like cancer and diabetes, subject to the President's control and until further orders.
