The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) has criticized the NRI Sabha, calling it a "white elephant" that has failed to serve the Punjabi diaspora. NAPA's Executive Director, Satnam Singh Chahal, stated the Sabha has been inactive and disconnected from pressing NRI issues like property disputes and harassment. He demanded transparency regarding the Sabha's performance, achievements, and financial spending before any discussion of new elections, arguing that elections without accountability are meaningless and that the Sabha has become a platform for political favoritism rather than a functional institution.
