Delhi Approves 58 Special Educator Posts to Address EWS Reservation Gap

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has approved 58 additional special educator posts in primary schools to support children with disabilities, following a Delhi High Court directive to address gaps in the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) reservation. This move responds to a 2020-21 recruitment drive where only 54 of the mandated 112 EWS vacancies were reported, limiting appointments. The Central Administrative Tribunal and Delhi High Court upheld full implementation of the EWS quota, leading to the creation of these posts with an annual budget of Rs 4.6 crore.
