
The Delhi government’s Directorate of Education will hire three project management units, each with 10 chartered accountants, to audit financial records of 1,794 private unaided recognised schools over the past three years. This Rs 6.3 crore exercise responds to complaints of financial irregularities and overcharging. The audit will analyze financial statements, supporting documents, and may include physical verification, with schools given opportunities to respond before final reports and potential corrective actions are finalized.
