Three family members of NCP (SP) MLA Bapu Pathare are contesting the upcoming Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) elections as BJP candidates. Pathare, who was elected to the Maharashtra Assembly on an NCP (SP) ticket in 2024, stated his son and daughter-in-law are independent and can make their own decisions. He will not campaign for them as they represent rival parties in the PMC polls, where BJP is the main opposition to the NCP-NCP(SP) alliance.
