BMC Issues Auction Notices for Mumbai Properties Over Rs 269 Crore Tax Dues

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has issued auction notices for 12 high-value properties across Mumbai to recover Rs 269.62 crore in outstanding property taxes. Among these is a 1,732 square metre land parcel on John the Baptist Road, Bandra, linked to St. Peter's Church, which the church says was sold in 2010 and denies involvement in the dues or auction. The BMC has given owners 21 days to clear dues before proceeding with auctions, including other prominent properties like the Elco Arcade building in Bandra.
