
Indonesia has confirmed its acquisition of BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles from India, aiming to enhance coastal defense and maritime security amid rising Chinese assertiveness near the Natuna Islands and South China Sea. The deal, valued between $200 million and $350 million, complements Indonesia's ongoing military modernization, which includes Rafale jets from France. Additionally, Indonesia is reportedly exploring the purchase of 40 JF-17 fighter jets from Pakistan to further strengthen its defense capabilities.
