Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has demanded the central government repeal the new Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) Act and reinstate the UPA-era MGNREGA. He alleges the new law undermines the right to work, curtails panchayat powers, and burdens states financially. Siddaramaiah threatened a protest, similar to the farmers' movement, to achieve the repeal, asserting the VB-G RAM G Act negatively impacts vulnerable sections, women, and small farmers.
