Starting September 15, 2026, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will require applicants to use updated versions of Forms I-539 and I-765 for nonimmigrant status changes and employment authorization. Older editions submitted on or after this date will be rejected without a grace period.
