
A Centre of Excellence on Maritime Skills in Dibrugarh, Assam, is slated for completion by 2026, according to Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. The center aims to equip regional youth with maritime skills for employment opportunities in India and abroad. Sonowal also mentioned the upcoming completion of a shipbuilding center at Pandu and improvements in waterway infrastructure, anticipating increased cargo and passenger vessel movement. He credited Prime Minister Modi's interest for Assam's growth and improved security situation.
