Election Commission Extends Deadline for Electoral Roll Claims in Five States and UTs

The Election Commission of India has extended the deadline for filing claims and objections on the draft electoral rolls for Goa, Lakshadweep, Rajasthan, Puducherry, and West Bengal to January 19, 2026. This extension, originally set for January 15, follows requests from Chief Electoral Officers and other considerations. The Commission has instructed officials to widely publicize the new deadline to ensure voter participation in the Special Intensive Revision process.
