Madras High Court Considers Proposal for Symbolic Prayers at Thirupparankundram Deepathoon

The Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court is considering a suggestion by Justice G.R. Swaminathan to allow five persons to offer symbolic prayers for 15 minutes at the newly identified deepathoon atop Thirupparankundram hill during the Karthigai Deepam festival. The Board of Trustees of the Subramaniya Swamy Temple requested deliberation on this proposal, emphasizing consultation with the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. The court scheduled further hearings on related contempt petitions for March 18.
