Maduro was captured by U.S. forces on January 3, along with his wife, who face drug trafficking charges. Interim President Delcy Rodriguez, formerly Maduro's vice president, updated her bio with a message of unity and stability. The block was reportedly imposed by Maduro in retaliation for criticism following the contested July 2024 election, which he won amid fraud allegations.
