Former CPI Vaikom MLA K. Ajith Joins BJP Citing Dalit Community Concerns

Senior Communist Party of India (CPI) leader and former Vaikom MLA K. Ajith joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accepting membership from BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar in Thiruvananthapuram. Ajith, who served two terms from 2006 to 2016, cited dissatisfaction with the Left Democratic Front's handling of Dalit community issues and expressed hope that BJP would promote development in Vaikom. He noted that his decision followed discussions with like-minded individuals and prior grievances raised within CPI leadership.
