
Senior IPS officer Ajay Singhal, a 1992-batch officer, has been appointed the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Haryana. He replaces O.P. Singh, who retired on Wednesday. Singhal's appointment, for a minimum two-year tenure, follows a panel selection by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). Singhal previously served as Director General of the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau. His tenure begins amid ongoing efforts to strengthen law and order and tackle organized crime.
