Hotels in Siliguri, India, have decided to stop providing accommodation to all Bangladeshi tourists, including those on medical visas. The Greater Siliguri Hoteliers Welfare Association cited concerns over the situation in Bangladesh and statements regarding the Siliguri Corridor. While a previous humanitarian exception for medical and student visa holders was made, the association has now reversed this policy, prioritizing national interests over business. Some hotels have displayed "Boycott Bangladesh" posters, and drivers have stopped services for Bangladeshi citizens, citing violence against Hindus and Bengalis in Bangladesh.
