Mohali Authorities Continue Anti-Encroachment Drive Amid Resident Protests

The Mohali Municipal Corporation (MC), in coordination with the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA), conducted a two-day anti-encroachment drive targeting unauthorized structures in Phases 3B1, 3B2, and 7. Despite resistance and protests from local residents, including objections that led to a temporary two-hour halt, officials demolished several illegal extensions, including those linked to influential individuals. The operation follows a 2022 Punjab and Haryana High Court order mandating removal of illegal encroachments, with police deployed to maintain order during the enforcement.
