Chhattisgarh High Court granted bail to Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, in two cases. Bhupesh Baghel stated that his son's arrest was based on an absconder's statement and alleged that central and state governments are using investigative agencies like ED, CBI, and EOW to harass opposition leaders. He claimed the BJP-led government targets opposition parties, offering a choice between joining their party or facing jail time. Chaitanya Baghel was arrested by the ED in July last year for alleged money laundering in a liquor scam and by the ACB EOW in September for a corruption probe.
