
The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) will hand over 864 rehabilitation flats to eligible residents of the Naigaon BDD Chawl redevelopment project on March 16, 2026. Of these, 423 units are reserved for serving and retired police personnel. The redevelopment, named Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar BDD Complex, involves constructing 20 towers across two phases to replace 42 existing chawls housing 3,344 tenants. The handover ceremony will be led by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at Nariman Point, with other dignitaries attending.
