India Sends Bihar Governor and MoS to Represent at Iran's Khamenei Funeral
India will be represented at the state funeral of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei by Bihar Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain and Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita. The funeral ceremonies, scheduled from July 4 to July 9 across multiple Iranian cities, follow Khamenei's death in a US-Israeli airstrike on February 28. Prime Minister Narendra Modi declined the invitation due to prior international commitments. India's delegation reflects ongoing strategic and civilisational ties with Iran amid regional complexities.
