The Election Commission has paused hearings for "unmapped" voters in West Bengal following data conversion errors from the 2002 electoral roll. Many voters with valid records were flagged digitally due to issues converting PDF to CSV formats. The Chief Electoral Officer's office directed that these electors not be called for physical hearings, and any issued notices should be withheld. Verification will proceed using extracts from the 2002 roll to prevent harassment of genuine voters.
