29 Naxalites Surrender in Chhattisgarh's Sukma Under Rehabilitation Initiative

Twenty-nine Naxalites, including Podiam Budhra, head of the Dandakaranya Adivasi Kisan Majdoor Sangthan (DAKMS) in Gogunda, surrendered in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district under the 'Poona Margem' rehabilitation initiative. The recent establishment of a security camp in the remote Gogunda area, combined with intensified anti-Naxal operations, significantly weakened Maoist activities and their support system in the Darbha division. Authorities urged remaining cadres to abandon violence, highlighting over 1,500 surrenders in the state in 2025 amid efforts to eliminate Naxalism by March 31, 2026.
