The Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) has ordered schools to close from January 3rd to January 13th, 2026, due to extreme cold weather conditions. The India Meteorological Department reported temperatures significantly below normal in Agartala, with forecasts predicting continued cold and fog. Practical examinations for Classes X and XII will proceed as scheduled. The TTAADC, which governs a large portion of Tripura's area and population, is currently led by the TIPRA Motha party.
