IPS Officer M.R. Ajithkumar Appointed BEVCO CMD Following CAT Ruling on IAS Posts

Senior IPS officer M.R. Ajithkumar was removed from the Kerala Excise Commissioner post after the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) ruled it an IAS cadre position, mandating only IAS officers hold such posts. Subsequently, the Kerala government appointed him as Chairman and Managing Director of Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO), a role equivalent to his previous rank. Harshita Attaluri, former BEVCO MD, was reassigned as Inspector General of Police, Traffic. The CAT emphasized adherence to cadre rules and Civil Services Board approval for IAS transfers.
