Tamil Nadu CM Requests PM Modi to Release Pending Rs 3,112 Crore Jal Jeevan Mission Funds

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking urgent release of Rs 3,112 crore pending under the Jal Jeevan Mission to complete ongoing water supply projects. Stalin highlighted Tamil Nadu's progress in providing household tap connections and noted that while the state has advanced many schemes, central funds have been delayed since September 2024. He also mentioned the Ministry of Jal Shakti's indication that central assistance may not extend to the Hogenekkal Phase-III scheme, urging intervention to ensure timely completion.
