Uttar Pradesh has implemented a GPS-based tracking system for food grains distributed through the Public Distribution System (PDS). This system monitors over 5,000 vehicles from depots to fair price shops, aiming to curb theft, leakage, and diversion. The technology provides real-time tracking of food grain movement, ensuring delivery within stipulated times and enhancing transparency across the supply chain. This initiative is also being applied to paddy procurement and the transportation of coarse grains.
