Lok Sabha Speaker Urges Government to Brief MPs on Crop Insurance Scheme

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has requested the government to form groups of MPs to educate them on the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, a crop insurance scheme providing affordable coverage against natural disaster-related losses. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan agreed to this proposal during Question Hour. The minister also highlighted government initiatives promoting integrated farming and alternative crops for tobacco growers, alongside procurement of several crops at Minimum Support Price to support farmers' incomes.
