Hyderabad has undergone a significant administrative overhaul, tripling its municipal area to 2,053 square kilometers through the merger of 27 surrounding local bodies. This expansion creates a 'Mega City' with doubled administrative zones (12) and wards (300) to manage a population over 1.34 crore and a Rs 11,460 crore budget. Concurrently, the police system has been restructured from three to four commissionerates, including a new 'Future City Commissionerate', to enhance specialized security across diverse urban hubs.
