Ahmedabad is preparing for the January 12 visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. The leaders are scheduled to jointly inaugurate the International Kite Festival-2026 at the Sabarmati Riverfront. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has initiated extensive cleaning, beautification, and security measures, including murals, traditional paintings, and over 200 welcome hoardings, to prepare for the dignitaries and accompanying guests.
