
Customs officers at international airport Red Channels are now required to wear body-worn cameras to enhance transparency and accountability. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) mandated the use of these cameras during interactions with passengers, who must be informed of the recording. Recordings will be stored for 90 days, with extensions for investigations, aligning with international best practices and aiming to reduce allegations of harassment.
