Thane and Kalyan Municipalities Enhance Monsoon Preparedness Amid Heavy Rains
In response to heavy monsoon rains and an Orange Alert issued by the India Meteorological Department, Thane and Kalyan-Dombivli municipal authorities have intensified flood preparedness and disaster management efforts. Thane Mayor Sharmila Pimpalkar inspected vulnerable low-lying areas, ordered 24/7 vigilance, and directed maintenance of pumps and drains. Similarly, Kalyan Mayor Harshali Choudhari and Municipal Commissioner Abhinav Goel reviewed live CCTV footage, ensured prompt complaint resolution, and activated round-the-clock emergency control rooms to manage waterlogging and related issues.
