Nepal's upcoming parliamentary elections will see a new alliance challenging established parties, as rapper-turned-Kathmandu mayor Balendra Shah joins the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). If the RSP wins the March 5 elections, Shah, 35, is slated to become prime minister, with RSP leader Rabi Lamichhane serving as party chief. This alliance aims to capture the youth vote and address demands for anti-corruption measures, spurred by recent youth-led protests.
