Saba Shawl Appointed First Kashmiri Woman Superintendent of Srinagar Central Jail

Saba Shawl has been appointed as the first Kashmiri woman superintendent of Srinagar Central Jail, the Union Territory's largest high-security correctional facility housing over 500 inmates. A resident of Srinagar's Peerbagh, she holds a master's degree in social work and qualified through the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission in 2012. Shawl has prior experience in prison administration and community development roles.
