A Srinagar NIA court has issued a proclamation notice against former KCCI president Mubeen Shah and two others, Tony Ashai and Rifat Wani, in a 2020 UAPA case. They are accused of conspiracy, including offenses under the IPC and UAPA, related to allegedly weaponizing social media to spread fake content, incite violence, and disrupt public order. The accused are believed to be outside India, with Wani in the UK and Shah and Ashai in the US. They are ordered to appear in court by January 31.
