Union Minister Highlights Petroleum Lobby Resistance to India's Alternative Fuel Transition

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari stated that the petroleum lobby, with interests tied to Rs 22 lakh crore in fossil fuel imports, is resisting India's shift to alternative fuels. Speaking at the IFGE compressed bio-gas conclave in Pune, he emphasized that promoting green fuels can boost rural agriculture, reduce pollution, and lower fossil fuel imports. Gadkari highlighted initiatives aiming for a smart, sustainable transport ecosystem by 2030 and noted the growing involvement of companies in alternative fuel technologies, aiming to enhance energy self-reliance and rural employment.
