
The Delhi government plans to transform a 50-acre garbage dumping ground along the Najafgarh Drain in Nawada Village into the Atal Memorial Garden, featuring a 12-foot statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, fountains, walkways, and sports facilities. The project includes planting 6,000 trees and aims to improve the environment and community space. Estimated at around Rs 9 crore, it also involves desilting major drains to enhance stormwater capacity and reduce waterlogging.
