The Delhi government has proposed procuring an additional 3,330 electric buses under the central government's PM E-DRIVE scheme. The Transport Department submitted a proposal to Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) for 500 seven-metre, 2,330 nine-metre, and 500 twelve-metre low-floor, air-conditioned electric buses. These buses aim to enhance last-mile connectivity and serve various routes, supporting the goal of a 100% electric public transport system. The government is prepared to cover costs independently if subsidy issues cause delays.
