Government Opens Nominations for Padma Awards 2027 Ahead of Republic Day

The Government of India has opened nominations for the Padma Awards 2027, to be announced on Republic Day. These prestigious civilian honors—Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri—recognize distinguished achievements across diverse fields such as art, literature, science, and public service. Nominations must be submitted online via the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal by July 31, 2026. While all citizens can nominate, government servants (except doctors and scientists) and PSU employees are ineligible. The government encourages nominations from women, marginalized groups, and those providing selfless service.
